Welcome to 2010. I trust everyone had a good break and practiced everyday in the holidays, or maybe just took a break. Sometimes it is a good way to refresh your creative side; never play through frustration, rather take a break and get focused before carrying on.
Theory :
So we are going to take a look at solo guitar blues where we will incorporate a bass line into our chords creating a walking bass line pattern with chordal and harmonic movement as this is a great way to work on independence. We are going to begin by looking at a simple bass line that outlines our chords; this bass line does not stick strictly to our 1,4 and 5 chord pattern so once we add the chords it will all make sense. Let’s begin with this simple bass line and perhaps you can try and add your own voicing for now. Next issue we will add the voicing which will make a challenging piece, once again this will be a good starting point to study independence.
Enjoy till next issue.
