The David Gresham Record Company announces the signing of Cape Town indie pop/rock outfit “The Plastics” to a worldwide licensing and publishing deal. The Plastics are riding high after the release of the hit single “Stereo Kids” which went top 10 on the 5FM Top 40 & the video went number 1 on the MK Charts. In March 2012 they opened for Irish indie-rock band Two Door Cinema Club at a secret location in Cape Town. The secret: an abandoned building in the middle of Phillipi. 3000 people were bussed into the heart of Philippi. Not a secret: it was a pretty bad-ass gig.
The Plastics are currently working in Dreamspace Studios (Cape Town) recording the follow up album to their debut album SHARK. The bands sophomore album is scheduled for worldwide release in September 2012.
