TERMINATRYX remix album finally unleashed – “Remyx v1.0″

Late-2008 / early-2009 South Africas female-fronted Industrial-Metal band TERMINATRYX embarked on finding the right people to remix the entire acclaimed self-titled debut album, a rarely tackled endeavor in South African music (except for mainstream artists doing a few songs per album, not each and every track in sequence).

This led to an incredible range of collaborators from around the world inspired by the tracks to put brand new spins on the already unique TERMINATRYX songs, from Dance, Industrial and Avant-Garde styles, to Trance, Aggro-Tech, EBM, Electronica, string- & acoustic versions plus more. These include people like the legendary Martin Degville from Sigue Sigue Sputnik, with Lloyd Price (UK), Sheep On Drugs (UK), Industriezone (Austria), Modern-e-Quartet (Greece), SA Goth legends The Awakening (relocated to the USA), and local musical forces like Battery 9 and Mr Sakitumi, plus Terminatryx versions and bonus tracks.

In between the original album and its remixed version, the TERMINARYX / NOSFERATU DVD was released (including music videos, a short film, photo galleries and the full classic silent vampire film Nosferatu, with its brand new soundtrack created and performed by Terminatryx with musical collaborators incl. members from Lark, Voice Of Destruction, K.O.B.U.S., Mr. Sakitumi and Matthijs Van Dijk – since then this collaborative project has produced 6 of these new silent movie soundtracks, and is accumulatively known as THE MAKABRA ENSEMBLE).

The KOPSKOOT! album was produced by Terminatryx members and is the first ever heavy Afrikaans compilation feat 16 acts, incl. Siek+Sat by Terminatryx.

Bonus Tracks:

ANIMOTION’s 1980s hit “Obsession” is the first ever TERMINATRYX cover version added to the live set late-2009. It was recorded at Flamedrop Productions by Paul Blom, additional recording and mixing at Bellville Studios with Theo Crous (also on guest rhythm guitar).

“Maciste Descends” is a track from one of the Terminatryx-driven MAKABRA ENSEMBLE live movie soundtracks, as performed for the classic 1920s Italian silent movie Maciste In Hell.

The “Undead On Speed” Terminatryx version of their Afrikaans song “Siek+Sat” closes off this ambitious project with a bang.
