Friday the 23rd of September will see Mr Cat & The Jackal launch their second music video from their critically acclaimed Sins & Siren Songs album released earlier this year. The music video is for their latest single – BAD MAN, HE COMIN’ – which has been play listed on campus and regional radio stations nationwide.
The BAD MAN, HE COMIN’ music video was shot in June and July this year mostly on a farm in the Free State and also in Swellendam. Directed by Yesterfang Puppetry & Animation and all footage shot by Bruce Flyinghorse Geils – the video features a skeleton-like puppet who digs himself out of his grave and assembles his missing parts. He gathers legs and some organs along the way and finds a couple of instruments and tools on which he jams with his other skeleton friends.
The music video follows after the release of the music video for The Devil Always Wants To Dance earlier this year and is a great follow up. First they had flames, now they have skeletons and horses.

A video out of puppetry was a natural progression for MCATJ. They knew from the start that BAD MAN, HE COMIN’ would be the second single from the album and such a bad ass song needs a bad ass video.
“We love theatre, and puppetry obviously is a very theatrical form. We have worked with Yesterfang for a while, so when they wanted to do a music video – we had no doubt in our minds that it would be great.”
Mr Cat & The Jackal will be launching the BAD MAN, HE COMIN’ music video this Friday at Dorpstraat Theatre on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Paarl. Besides the screening of the video, there will be a live performance by Mr. Cat & The Jackal and an exhibition by Yesterfang Puppetry & Animation and Flyinghorse Photography.
