Kai Fish of The Mystery Jets-Releases his first Solo Album

Kai Fish, who you may know as bass player of The Mystery Jets, has announced details, and a taste of, his first solo album “Life in Monochrome“, out 26th September 2011 on his own label, Music For Wolves.

A deeply personal record, Life in Monochrome is an intimate portrait of a songwriter coming to terms with a period of great change and upheaval in his life.

With Californian producer Dean Reid, Kai recently decamped to Paris, a place he dreamed of living as a teenager, and with friends including Mystery Jets members William Rees and Kapil Trivedi, London singer Sophie Rose and Lisa Wisznia of Elephant, made his first record under his own name.

Already an established songwriter in his own right (having recently penned tracks for Mark Ronson and The Count and Sinden, as well as having written or co-written many of the Mystery Jets finest songs), Life in Monochrome sees Kai firmly come into his own over the course of an 11 track album, which the NME has given 8/10 and described as “heartbreak in every hue… via that rare alchemical art of spinning life’s dross into spun-gold song”
