The 7th of February sees FIRE THROUGH THE WINDOW release the first single and video from their upcoming new EP, due for release in March 2012. The first single is entitled LONG GONE. The video for the single is directed by Louis Minnaar and was shot in December 2011 in a Pretoria studio.
The first single clearly illustrates the bandʼs progression over the past eighteen months, and also constitutes their favourite song from the upcoming EP.
“The song is about being in a situation that you feel trapped in and taken advantage of. Ultimately, it’s about the realisation that you are the only one who can pull yourself out of it and how you get to that point.”
The video portrays a green screen animated environment set in space and features Sinead Dennis turning pulleys that spin planets whilst Marc De La Querra is running on them. The whole band also plays on planets and at one stage Sineadʼs face is portrayed as the moon.
“The animation style of Louis Minnaar will definitely compliment the tone of the song. It’s an upbeat song but has pretty sombre lyrics underneath it and that will be depicted properly by the video.”
